G’s Story
G’s mother was evicted from her public housing a number of months ago, so G and his mother have been temporarily living with different friends until now. G is the youngest child of five siblings all of whom are girls with criminal histories. Although G’s home life has been unstable he has continued to attend school. His school has generously supported him by providing books, lunches and uniforms to ensure his education is continuous and affected as little as possible by these changes. However he has not been able to participate in any extra-curricular activities with his classmates.
With the support from Max e Grants funding, G was able to attend class excursions, sporting events and participate in the swimming program. G can now be involved in all aspects of learning and isn’t held back through financial constraints, offering him an equal opportunity to have a full and comprehensive life education.
