B’s Story
B is a grade six student who lives with his Dad in an isolated township in remote Australia. B’s township and the surrounding regions have been in drought for over ten years, putting economic pressure on farmers, businesses and families. Each year, B’s school takes Grade Six students on an excursion to Canberra. B’s father could not afford to send him.
B is one of five students Max e Grants funded to go on this annual excursion. He learned a lot about the capital and developed friendships with the students he will be in class with next year. B was grateful he didn’t have to stay behind while the rest of his class went on the trip, and as well as the feeling of inclusion, B’s self-esteem and confidence have visibly grown.
